DURHAM – NC State (35-18) scored in the top of the 11th inning on Tuesday night at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park, to defeat Duke (35-20) in the first pool play game of group D, 8-7. Sophomore Jimmy Romano was pegged with the loss, working 0.1 innings and allowing two hits.
The Blue Devils broke both the single season home run record and single season strikeouts record on Tuesday night.
