Duke lost to Louisville in the Yum! Center Saturday, 70-65. The problems were nothing new: Duke allowed extensive penetration, had clusters of turnovers, Matthew Hurt and Jalen Johnson had foul trouble and Johnson didn’t come close to his superb effort against Pitt.
Duke had chances to win this game or at least to keep it winnable in the closing seconds but Joey Baker missed a three with 0:34 left, then Wendell Moore missed a three with 0:22 left and DJ Steward missed one of his own with 0:16 and Duke down 68-65.
That was the last gasp.
