Duke Falls in Series Opener to Princeton, 7-3

DURHAM – Duke Baseball (6-3) fell in the series opener to Princeton (2-3), 7-3 on Friday at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park. Southpaw Jonathan Santucci was pinned with the loss, working five innings and scattering five hits. He allowed three runs and punched out a season-high nine strikeouts for the third consecutive outing.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Princeton jumped out to an early lead in the first inning, hitting a two-run home run to left field to lead 2-0.
  • Senior Damon Lux scored the first run of the game for the Blue Devils in the bottom of the third, being hit by a pitch to cut the lead in half.
