MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Duke fencing team concluded the weekend at the USFA Junior Olympics Championships this afternoon in Memphis, Tenn., as freshmen Maria Papadopoulos and Gabrielle Zegers and redshirt freshman Ben Stone took the strips for the junior division at the Memphis Cook Convention Center.
Zegers kicked off competition Friday in Junior Women’s Saber and finished the weekend in 72nd with a 4-2 ledger in pool play. The Fair Oaks, Calif., native earned a bye in the table of 256 and ultimately fell in the table of 128.
