- Duke made its 2021 debut after 332 days away and turned in a thrilling 12-10 comeback victory over a top-10 Denver squad. The Blue Devils trailed 6-1 early in the second quarter, but held the Pioneers to only two second half goals en route to the win.
- Duke features a roster of 56 players this season with 16 of the Blue Devils in their fifth year of collegiate lacrosse. Head coach John Danowski welcomed six fifth-year transfers to the program, while 10 of Duke's 2020 seniors returned to complete their eligibility after being granted an extra year due to the COVID-19 shortened season.
