The Duke Chronicle continues to profile this year’s Blue Devils. This time out: freshmen big guys Vernon Carey and Matthew “the Hurtline” Hurt.
Both players are capable of shooting from anywhere on the court from behind the line to near the basket. Carey has a big advantage in that he’s much more physically mature. Hurt is thinner but he’s going to get stronger and he’s going to be an offensive force too. They’re both good ballhandlers too and there’s no reason why they shouldn’t be good passers.
We haven’t come close to seeing either at their best but we’re only two exhibition games in.
