Kyrie Irving is from the inner city in New Jersey.
He went to St. Patrick’s High School and put the school on the map as a basketball powerhouse in throughout the country.
St. Patrick’s High School thrived due to the success of its boys basketball team but had to close briefly in June 2012, but reopened in September 2012 with a new name, The Patrick School.
In January, Kyrie Irving donated a new gym to his high school alma mater and now he’s going even bigger, hosting a private invitational for the inner city schools.
