Hooray for defense, but the objective of the game is in its name: ball-in-basket. And seeing that Duke basketball teams aren’t immune to ball-in-basket droughts, save maybe the 1998-99 Blue Devils, the 2020-21 collection might as well plan for the inevitable issue. Because even though the best offense is a good defense — or insert similar cliché here — reopened scoring clinics and odds-defying comebacks don’t come to pass without several scorers dazzling in unison.
In other words, sometimes, all the surest bucket-getters should be on the floor at the same time, even if defense be damned. So what might that particular Duke basketball lineup look like next season?
