Current and former Duke student-athletes gathered in Scharf Hall on Feb. 13, to conduct a panel discussion about the evolution of the Black student-athlete experience at Duke.
The panel, titled "Strides for Change," was moderated by current Duke student-athletes Job Trahan of track and field and Christina Barrow of volleyball. The panelists - Kwasi Bonsu (wrestling), Angel Thompson Brown (lacrosse), Dez Johnson (football), Jade Ellis (track and field), Deja Davis (softball) and Keith Daniel (football) - openly shared their experiences and expressed gratitude and optimism about the enhanced social and mental health support services provided to current Duke student-athletes.
