DURHAM, N.C. – The Duke fencing team received a second commitment to its 2016-17 recruiting class, as foilist Caitie Buteau signed her National Letter of Intent to attend Duke and fence next year. Buteau joins Lindsay Sapienza, who submitted her NLI last week, as Duke’s first two signees.
“We are so pleased to have Lindsay Sapienza joining us next fall on our women’s saber squad and Caitie Buteau onto our women’s foil squad,” head coach Alex Beguinet said. “Both Caitie and Lindsay have great results from North American Cups, Junior Olympics and Summer Nationals at the national level, and both have participated in many World Cups at the international level.
