David Shumate: I want to get into a bunch of stuff, and we’ll get into the Duke portion of your career in just a second, but I’m curious when you go way back — what do you remember about how you first got into football?
Darius Joiner: For me, I didn’t get a chance to start playing football like everyone else did. I didn’t do my homework in kindergarten — that’s when all my friends started playing and that’s when my mom instilled in me that I needed to do my schoolwork before I could even start thinking about playing sports.
