The New York Giants and their media allies are pushing the notion that Eli Manning is the natural starter and should start all year.
Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News is not toeing the party line and says that everything points to the Giants moving to Jones at some point and perhaps sooner if incumbent Eli Manning struggles.
Essentially he says the quarterback controversy is not coming - it’s on.
Earlier in the weekend, he wrote this and started calling Jones Danny Dimes.
All of this is a huge shift from the way people covered the draft and New York’s selection of Jones with the sixth pick.
