Coach David Cutcliffe has kicked three players off the Duke football team including starting wide receiver Johnell Barnes.
Also gone: redshirt wide receiver Terrance Alls and redshirt sophomore Chris Holmes.
Cutcliffe said that basically the three were not able to maintain the standards of the program: "[I]t had reached a point where it was in their best interest, and certainly the program’s best interest, to move forward somewhere else. We appreciate and thank them for their contributions to the program. We wish them well in whatever they choose to do."
It's never a happy day when this happens but it is good that a program enforces standards.
