DURHAM, N.C. – For the second time Wednesday, a Duke Blue Devil was chosen in the 2019 Major League Baseball First Year Player Draft, as junior left-handed pitcher Adam Laskey was taken in the 19th round (582nd overall pick) by the Chicago Cubs.
Laskey is the fourth Blue Devil to be selected in this year’s draft, joining teammates Graeme Stinson (Tampa Bay Rays, fourth round, 128th overall), Ben Gross (Minnesota Twins, 10th round, 299th overall), and Kennie Taylor (New York Mets, 14th round, 418th overall).
