Looks like the Kyrie trade has gone down: the AP is reporting that the Cleveland Cavaliers will send Irving to the Boston Celtics for Isaiah Thomas, Jae Crowder, Ante Zizic and Brooklyn's 2018 first-round pick which is unprotected.
Big whoop. Boston collects first round picks like kids collect baseball cards.
Irving for Thomas is an upgrade, at least in Boston’s eyes (look how much they gave up for him). Crowder will help Cleveland’s defense and Zizic is a bit of an unknown.
Cleveland gets a suitable replacement for Irving and a nice first-round pick next year which, with a little luck, could end up being the #1 pick.
