Carter Selected 50th Overall in 2020 MLB Draft

DURHAM, N.C. – The Texas Rangers drafted Duke signee Evan Carter with the 50th overall pick in the second round of the 2020 Major League Baseball First Year Player Draft.

A four-year letterwinner at Elizabethton High School, Carter is a member of Duke's 12-member recruiting class in 2020. Carter enjoyed an impressive junior campaign at EHS, sporting a 10-2 record on the mound along with a 1.34 ERA, while notching six complete games. He closed out the 2019 season being named the All-Conference Pitcher of the Year, while also being selected as the Super 22 Player of the Year and receiving First Team All-State honors.
