INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Duke University 2019 graduate Virginia Elena Carta has been selected one of nine finalists for the NCAA Woman of the Year, as announced Wednesday. Carta along with the eight other finalists will be honored at an awards dinner Oct. 20 in Indianapolis, Ind., where the 2019 Woman of the Year will be announced.
Finalists were selected from a group of 30 Woman of the Year honorees. That group of 30 includes 10 honorees from each NCAA division and represents a range of sports. Schools nominated a record 585 college athletes for the award.
