SPRINGFIELD, Pa.- Duke University sophomore Virginia Elena Carta kept her run going at the 2016 U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship Thursday as she won two match play contests to advance to the quarterfinals at the Rolling Green Golf Club in Springfield, Pa.
Carta went up against Muni He in the first match of the morning and found herself 2-down through five as she dropped back-to-back holes on No. 4 and No. 5. She responded with a birdie on No. 6 to cut into the lead but He birdied No. 9 to get the lead back to 2-up.
