PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. – A trio of Blue Devils, senior Beatrice Capra and freshmen Ellyse Hamlin and Kaitlyn McCarthy, maintained a near-perfect singles record Tuesday afternoon in the qualifying singles draw of the Riviera/ITA All-American Championships in Pacific Palisades, Calif. The duo of Capra and Hamlin also secured a win in qualifying doubles draw action.
Capraand Hamlin opened play for the Blue Devils on a positive note, downing their opponent, Pepperdine's Laura Gulbe and Dzina Milovanovic, 8-3. Capra and Hamlin improve to 4-0 on the year with the win, and are scheduled to face Rebecca Pedrazzi and Aleksandra Trifunovic of Wichita State Wednesday.
