DURHAM, N.C. -- Duke senior men's basketball player Brennan Besser has completed a 3,500-mile bike trip from Seattle to New York City as he looks to raise $1 million for Walk On America.
Besser founded the Walk On America campaign to raise money and awareness of the Intellectual and Developmental Disability (IDD) community. Siblings Brennan and Rachel Besser were compelled to action by the challenges faced every day by their sister Jacqueline, who is non-verbal.
“I tip my hat to him,” said assistant coach Chris Carrawell. “It’s a selfless act – that’s what our program was built on.
