DURHAM – Duke University's Darcy Bourne has been invited to train with the Great Britain Women's Field Hockey team as the squad begins training for the 2024 Olympics in Paris. Bourne is one of eight new players selected to participate.
Bourne spent this past fall back home in England training with the U21 National Team in hopes of being selected to participate in the Junior Women's World Cup in South Africa. The 2020 ACC Field Hockey Freshman of the Year earned an official spot on the England U21 roster in November, but the Junior Women's World Cup set to be played in December was postponed due to the latest variant of COVID-19.
