Starting Saturday in a game with Richmond, Boston College has a chance to reach a 10th victory, a first for the program in three years. The Eagles already are 9-3, 1-0 in the ACC, with at least 20 games left, including Dartmouth on Jan. 13.
The ACC doesn’t produce single-digit winners with the frequency it did in the fifties (11) or sixties (25) when the league had seven and eight members. Since the turn of the century just eight squads in 18 years that won fewer than 10 times in a season, including BC in both 2016 and 2017.
