Bolden a Candidate for Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Award

SPRINGFIELD, MASS. – The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame announced today the 20 watch list members for the 2018 Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Center of the Year Award. Duke sophomore Marques Bolden, who saw action in 24 games as a freshman in 2016-17, represents the Blue Devils on the preseason list. A 6-11, 246-pound center from DeSoto, Texas who was a McDonald’s All-American in 2016, Bolden is expected to assume a much larger role in Duke’s playing rotation this season.

Named after Hall of Famer and three-time NCAA Champion Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, the annual honor in its fourth year recognizes the top centers in men’s college basketball.
