CLEVELAND, Ohio – Two Blue Devils traveled to Cleveland, Ohio, this weekend to compete in the 2016 Junior Olympic Fencing Championships, both garnering top-20 placings in their respective divisions.
Starting off the weekend, sophomore Haley Fisher took to the strips in Junior Women’s Saber Friday and finished 15th out of 146 competitors. Fisher used a 4-2 performance with a +9 indicator in the pool play round to earn the No. 41 seed. After reeling off three wins in bracket play, the Kennesaw, Ga., native fell in the Table of 16 by a score of 15-12 to end her run.
