Blue Devils Prepped for Junior Olympics

DURHAM, N.C. – With a free weekend from the collegiate schedule, four Duke fencers will head to Cleveland, Ohio, to participate in the 2016 Junior Olympic Fencing Championships, scheduled for Feb. 12-15.

Competing first for Duke, sophomore Haley Fisher will participate in the Junior Women’s Saber event Friday. After qualifying for the NCAA Fencing Championships as a freshman in 2015, Fisher has continued to excel as a Blue Devil, ranking third on the women’s team in wins with her record of 38-10 to start the 2016 campaign.

Saturday’s schedule will feature two Duke fencers, beginning with freshman Camille Esnault in Junior Women’s Epee before fellow rookie Alan Ko takes to the strips in the Junior Men’s Foil competition.
