DURHAM, N.C. – In front of 38,313 fans Saturday at the N.C. A&T at Duke football contest in Wallace Wade Stadium, the Blue Devil women's golf program was honored for their outstanding accomplishments over the last five months.
In the first half, the freshman tandem of Megan Furtney and Erica Shepherd were honored for winning the United States Golf Association (USGA) U.S. Women's Amateur Four-Ball Championship last April in Jacksonville, Fla. The Blue Devil duo tied for fourth place in stroke play qualifying to secure the No. 5 seed and then went on to win five match play contests to bring home the USGA title.
