CHEKHOV, Russia – The Duke tandem of Azurá Stevens and Angela Salvadores led their respective countries into the quarterfinal round of the 2015 FIBA U19 World Championship in Chekhov, Russia Wednesday.
Salvadores helped guide Spain to a 73-68 victory over Netherlands as the 6-0 guard tallied 18 points, three steals and two rebounds in 38 minutes of action. A product of Leon, Spain, Salvadores and her Spain squad will have a day off Thursday before going up against Belgium Thursday.
Stevens helped lead the USA Basketball squad to another easy victory with an 89-39 win over Argentina in the round of 16.
