BLACKSBURG, VA. – The Duke men's track & field team completed the first night of the Virginia Tech Challenge on Friday with a program record and six total personal records.
Redshirt junior Ben Beatty captured the school record in the weight throw with a distance of 19.08m (69-7.25 feet). The mark placed him as the top collegiate finisher in Friday's event and currently ranks as the fifth-best in the ACC this indoor season. Beatty surpassed Iyin Battle's distance of 18.55 (60-10.50) for the top spot in program history.
