ESPN recently provided an update on Duke Men’s Basketball this summer and how the program operates without Hall of Fame head coach Mike Krzyzewski. Coach K is currently in Rio leading the US Men’s National Team in the 2016 Olympic games.
While Krzyzewski and associate head coach Jeff Capel are in Brazil, assistant coaches Nate James and Jon Scheyer lead the team along with special assistant Nolan Smith. Their job is crucial because they take over recruiting and preparing the current players for the upcoming season.
The summer is even more important this year because the 2016-17 team has high expectations for the college basketball season.
