Only one Wednesday game as Virginia Tech survived Chattanooga, but just barely.
Virginia Tech was up just three with 6.5 left but the Mocs were forced to foul and freshman Nahiem Alleyne was clutch and hit both to give the Hokies a 63-58 win.
Alleyne had 22 to pace the Hokies. Landers Nolley didn’t shoot well (7-20) but finished with 19.
Freshman Hunter Cattoor, by far our favorite non-Duke ACC freshman so far, dressed but didn’t play due to an ankle issue.
That’s the kind of game you have to be able to get through, especially when you’re building a program.
