A bit of sad news as ACC great Dickie Hemric has passed away at the age of 83.
Hemric was one of the founding figures of the ACC. He was player of the year in the first two seasons of the conference and was amazingly potent: his scoring record stood until JJ Redick topped it. Remember that Hemric only had three varsity seasons and there were no three point shots.
He was also a tremendous rebounder and still owns that record - set again in three seasons.
We really appreciated how he reacted to Redick breaking his record.
