A Look Back At The Kentucky Game

Duke and Kentucky have a long and interesting history dating back to Southern Conference days. In the ‘60s, Kentucky played Texas Western after beating Duke in the 1966 Final Four and thus became the doomed face of segregated basketball (thanks for that, by the way).

In 1978, Duke’s young team (but the standard of that day anyway) ran all the way to the title game, only to lose to Kentucky when Goose Givens got insanely hot and scored 41.

Then there’s the 1980 NCAA win over UK in Rupp, Kentucky’s big comeback against Duke in 1998 and of course the Laettner Game in 1992.
