The Drake University women's tennis team faced Marquette and Iowa in Iowa City on Jan. 14 and 15 to open their season.
The Bulldogs defeated Marquette 7-0 on Friday, but fell to Iowa 1-6 on Saturday.
Drake had five competitors in the singles competition with the Golden Eagles -- freshman , sophomores and , seniors and .
Against Marquette, Drake went 2-1 in the doubles portion of the evening. The Bulldogs fell in the first competition, but won the last two.
On Saturday Drake faced the Hawkeye's Saturday Jan. 15. The Bulldogs had the same five competitors in the singles portion, but added junior to the lineup.
