DES MOINES – The Drake University women's tennis team earned a 7-0 victory over Kansas City (1-6) on Sunday afternoon at the Roger Knapp Tennis Center to extend its winning streak to four duals in a row.
Drake (6-4) claimed the doubles point to jump out to a 1-0 lead over the Roos. Kendall Hunt/Megan Webb won by default at No. 3, and Maria Tatarnikova/Daria Walczak took the first five games at No. 2 before closing out a 6-1 win. At No. 1, Joely Lomas/Liza Petushkova trailed 5-6 but came through in the clutch by staving off a deciding match point to force a tiebreaker.
