WATERLOO, Ill. -- Drake women's golf (329-322--309--960) ended the MVC Championships at Annbriar Golf Course in Waterloo, Ill., with its best round of the tournament on Tuesday, April 18.
"Our team had the third lowest round of the day," head coach Steve Smith said. "I am so proud of these ladies for continuing to play their hearts out through the tough conditions all tournament."
With incredible chipping, Kristen Giles (78-78-75--231) forced a three-person playoff with Payton Carter of Murray State and Kate Petrova of Evansville. All three golfers made par on the first playoff hole before Petrova pulled ahead on the second playoff hole to earn medalist honors as Giles claimed runner-up honors.
