The Drake University women's golf team overcame first-round struggles with a solid second round to finish the first day of the MVC Preview at the Spirit Hollow Golf Course in third place. Drake's 36-hole total of 629 (322-307) is one stroke behind second-place Missouri State and eight back from the leader, UNI.
"After not getting to play a traditional practice round yesterday due to heavy rain, we had difficulty finding the speed of the greens in the first round," head coach Rachael Pruett-Hornbaker of the team's resiliency. "Thankfully today was 36 holes and the ladies kept their heads in the day and found a solid round in the afternoon.
