ST. LOUIS – Senior Lizzy Wendell (Blue Springs, Mo.) of the Drake University women's basketball team has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the third-straight week while freshman Becca Hittner (Urbandale, Iowa) was named the MVC Newcomer of the Week for the fourth time this season, the league office announced Monday afternoon.
Wendell continued her strong play in wins over Loyola and Indiana State this past weekend. In the victories, she averaged 27.0 points, 2.0 steals, 1.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists.
