DES MOINES, Iowa – The Drake University women's basketball team was recognized by the Iowa Senate for its outstanding 2016-17 season on Thursday, April 6, morning at the State Capitol.
Drake, which won the Missouri Valley Conference regular season and tournament titles, was invited to the morning session by Drake University Law School alum and State Senator Nate Boulton. Boulton introduced the team and listed off the individual and team on-and-off the court accomplishments. Boulton thanked them for being outstanding representatives of Drake University and Des Moines. Senate Resolution 15 was then passed honoring the team on its outstanding season and a standing ovation followed.
