EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The Drake University women's basketball team defeated Evansville by a score of 86-66 on Thursday evening at the Ford Center. The 20-point win improved Drake's record to 20-8 overall and 13-4 in the MVC. The Bulldogs have now tallied back-to-back 20-win seasons for the first time since the 2000-01 and 2001-02 seasons.
Junior Lizzy Wendell (Blue Springs, Mo.), the MVC Preseason Player of the Year and league's top scorer, continues to post impressive scoring numbers as she poured in 22 points on 9-of-15 shooting. Wendell's game-high moved her to ninth all-time at Drake in career points with 1,790.
