DES MOINES, Iowa – The Drake University women's basketball team defeated Southern Illinois, 91-76, on Friday, Feb. 7 night at the Knapp Center to claim its seventh win in its last eight outings.
The Bulldogs (16-6, 8-2 MVC) broke an early 11-11 tie by running off 13-straight points to take control of the game. The Salukis (13-8, 5-5 MVC) would never get closer than seven points from that point on.
Becca Hittner highlighted the stretch with a personal 8-0 run, punctuated by a pair of 3-pointers. Hittner finished with seven made 3-pointers, tied for the third-most in a game in Drake history, including a half-court heave to close the first half.
