DES MOINES, Iowa – The Drake University women's basketball team closes its 2017 Preseason WNIT appearance with a consolation home game against Liberty on Friday. Tipoff in the first-ever meeting between the teams is set for 7 p.m. at the Knapp Center. The game will be broadcast on The Valley on ESPN3.
Drake (1-1, RV) lost at 2017 Elite 8 participant and No. 10 Oregon, 110-77, on Sunday to send the Bulldogs to the consolation bracket. The Bulldogs trailed by single digits early in the third quarter, but the Ducks ripped off a 13-2 scoring run to pull away for the win and send them to the semifinals, where they will play at Texas A&M on Thursday.
