LAWRENCE, Kan. - The Drake University track and field team's throwers continued the program's resurgence as freshman Katelyn Williams posted the teams' second-best recorded mark in the women's hammer throw in school history Thursday evening at the Kansas Relays.

Williams' throw of 168-10 (51.46m) earned her second place in the competition, just seven inches behind the winner.

Williams was one of a limited number of Bulldogs in action Thursday night on the first night of the Kansas Relays. Maximilian Fridrich made his season debut on the track and took 11th in the unseeded section of the 5,000 meters in 15:06.
