After the Drake University football team's defense and special teams led the Bulldogs to a 13-10 victory Saturday at Drake Stadium, it was no surprise that a pair of Bulldogs garnered Pioneer Football League Defensive and Special Teams Player of the Week honors.
Junior safety Will Warner (Pella, Iowa) was named the PFL Defensive Player of the Week for a record-setting performance while kicker Danny Donley (Tulsa, Okla.) was named the PFL Special Teams Player of the Week.
Warner led another strong defensive effort that held Marist to fewer than 300 total yards of offense and negative nine yards rushing.
