MACOMB, Ill. - Led by 16 kills from freshman Haley Bush (Waukee, Iowa), the Drake University volleyball rallied from a first-set loss to defeat Western Illinois, 3-1, Tuesday evening at Western Hall.
After dropping the first set, 25-20, the Bulldogs cruised in the next three sets by scores of 25-20, 25-14, 25-14.
Drake (.185) was far more efficient offensively in those final three sets, hitting .324, .481 and .519 to dispatch WIU (3-4).
In addition to Bush's 16 kills, Emily Plock (Altoona, Iowa) added 11 kills while Gillian Gergen (Janesville, Iowa) added 18.
