TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Drake University volleyball team had three players record double-figure kills to sweep Indiana State, 3-0, Friday evening at ISU Arena.
The Bulldogs prevailed by set scores of 25-20, 25-19, 25-19, to remain alive in the hunt for the sixth and final spot in next week's Missouri Valley Conference Tournament.
Drake (19-13, 7-10 MVC) hit .269 in the win with 49 kills to Indiana State's 32. Cathryn Cheek (Coppell, Texas), who earlier this season had a career-high 23 kills against the Sycamores, led the Bulldogs with 13 kills. Her 13 kills marked the 14th-straight match she has recorded double-figure kills and she added 14 digs for another double-double.
