Anthony Barmes and Isaac Basten will represent the Drake University track & field program at the 2023 Division I Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships for the second straight year, this time at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin, Texas, June 7-10.
Barmes owns the Missouri Valley Conference and Drake men's hammer throw record (231-5). Barmes' last toss of 68.21m (223-9) ranked 11th at the NCAA West Preliminaries in Sacramento, Calif., on Wednesday, May 24, with the top 12 finishes qualifying for the NCAA men's hammer throw final.
Basten completed the 1500m run in 3:39.
