DES MOINES, Iowa - Asha Gibson has been named as an assistant coach for track and field at Drake University, director of cross country and track & field Mark Carroll announced, Oct. 17.
Gibson, who will work with the Bulldogs' sprinters, jumpers, hurdlers and relay teams, brings more than a decade of progressive experience to Drake following outstanding tenures at Tennessee State and Jacksonville State for six years prior, both as an assistant coach.
In her eleven years of coaching – five at TSU and six at JSU – she has successfully mentored numerous All-Americans, conference champions, NCAA regional qualifiers, NCAA qualifiers and school record holders.
