DES MOINES, Iowa— Sophomore Reed Timmer (New Berlin, Wis.) scored a career high 30 points, but it wasn't enough to push the Drake University men's basketball past DePaul in a 74-71 loss Wednesday evening at the Knapp Center.
Timmer scored 20 of Drake's 37 first-half points. He finished the evening shooting 7-of-11 from the field, 3-of-4 from three-point range and was 13-of-17 from the free-throw line. Sophomore Graham Woodward (Edina, Minn.) followed, finishing with 18 points along with three assists for Drake (4-5).
"[Reed] Timmer took the right shots tonight," said Drake head coach Ray Giacoletti.
