ST. LOUIS - The Drake University softball team, which won the 2018 Missouri Valley Conference regular season and tournament titles, had three student-athletes earn MVC Scholar-Athlete honors, the league office announced Monday afternoon.
Sophomore Mandi Roemmich (West Des Moines, Iowa), the 2018 MVC Player of the Year and 2018 All-MVC First Team honoree, and 2018 All-MVC First Team selection, Taryn Pena (Columbia, Ill.) were selected to the MVC Scholar-Athlete First Team while sophomore Sarah Maddox (Henderson, Nev.), a 2018 All-MVC First Team member, garnered MVC Scholar-Athlete Honorable Mention accolades.
