Drake University sophomore Garrett Sturtz has been named to the Missouri Valley Conference Men's Basketball Scholar-Athlete Team, the league announced Thursday, March 5.
Sturtz, who earned a spot on the second team, was one of 15 student-athletes honored by the league for their work on the court and in the classroom.
Sturtz's most recent accolade comes a day after he was named to the MVC All-Bench Team.
The sophomore from Newton, Iowa, averaged 8.2 points and 5.2 rebounds per game in league play. Over the entire season, he was second on the team and 10th in the league in rebounding with 5.
